Hyster Atlas automated lift truck portal wins two product awards
Hyster announces two major award wins for the Hyster Atlas automated lift truck portal. The revolutionary lift truck automation solution won a Good Design award in the robotics category and was selected as the AGV Solution of the Year by the SupplyTech Breakthrough Awards. Hyster Atlas, which launched in September 2025, enables implementation of automated lift trucks in as little as one day without any software engineering experience through an easy-to-use, drag-and-drop portal, making it easier to amplify teams’ work in manufacturing facilities.
When utilizing the portal, users can easily map their facility by operating the truck manually. As the truck is driven, waypoints are automatically created along the travelled path to define routes – no coding required. To update that route, waypoints can simply be dragged and dropped into new locations, making it easy to implement and update automated solutions, even if users have no software engineering experience.
“With the demands placed on material handling operations, the last thing teams need is technology that’s complex and cumbersome to use,” said Noah Salmonson, product manager, Automation, Hyster. “The Hyster automated lift truck portal was created to amplify what teams can accomplish, not leave them buried in complicated software. These award wins recognize the simplicity of working within the Hyster Atlas portal, and the value of that simplicity in meeting operational goals.”
The first Hyster Atlas automated lift truck, an automated tow tractor, was designed to fit a broad range of workflows and is capable of working with a variety of cart styles. The truck offers an automated hitch and unhitch option to limit manual intervention. To further ease the manual burden of managing automated lift truck fleets, automated wireless charging enables the truck to return to a charging station dock when needed without operator or supervisor intervention. Automation components are integrated separately on top of standard Hyster lift trucks, allowing updates and adjustments without interfering with other components, and enabling simpler service by the Hyster dealer network.
Hyster Atlas also addresses common financial challenges that can prevent automation adoption with a rental model. All costs are rolled into a single monthly fee, allowing operations to get real-world automation experience in their operation without a major upfront financial commitment.
