Leoncables equips rigging gear with RiConnect digital product passports

RiConnect Inc’s digital product passports (DPPs) are being provided by Ecuador’s Leoncables CIA LTDA to drive sustainability and compliance across a range of wire rope synthetic slings and other rigging items. RiConnect recently aligned its latest rebrand and tagline – ‘Compliance Infrastructure’ – with the world’s leading regulatory authorities.

Digital chips and identification technologies within the RiConnect ecosystem support multiple identification methods, including radio frequency identification (RFID), QR codes, and barcodes. These technologies enable physical assets to be uniquely identified and connected to digital records managed through the RiConnect DPP platform, ensuring traceability, compliance visibility, and lifecycle documentation. Together, these capabilities underpin operational compliance requirements, facilitating inspections, maintenance programmes, asset management, and other compliance-related workflows.

Leoncables specialises in manufacturing wire rope and synthetic slings, in addition to a wide range of rigging accessories. The central benefit of its catalogue of products being equipped with DPPs is that product information, inspection reports, and usage history can be tracked, making maintenance and examination easier.

Yoke’s BlueSupra digital chips are helping companies move to paperless systems to improve the accuracy of maintenance, safety checks, incident reports, and regulatory compliance, while supporting seamless information sharing.
