Snorkel to Showcase A62JRT Boom Lift at The Rental Show 2012

Snorkel, Elwood, Kan., will showcase its latest articulated boom lift, the A62JRT, at The Rental Show 2012, Feb. 5-8, in New Orleans. The A62JRT, a 62-foot platform height, articulated boom built on Snorkel’s Polaris chassis, will be in full production next year.

According to Snorkel, the Polaris chassis delivers the best inside turning radius of any two-wheel-steer machine in its class and offers compact stowed dimensions for transport. The oscillating front axle, with hydrostatic 4WD keeps all four tires in contact with the ground, and works whether the machine is stowed or elevated.

Snorkel showed an early prototype of the A62JRT at Conexpo 2011. The pre-production model was unveiled at the Lift & Access Showcase & Symposium in November.

The A62JRT replaces the old Snorkel AB60JRT, offering significantly improved drive and lift capabilities (particularly up-and-over clearance) and a 100 percent reduction in tail swing compared to the previous model.

The lift offers a maximum platform height at 61’8” and up-and-over clearance at 29’6”. It also has the largest platform cage in its class (96” x 39”) and the most compact length when stowed for transport (27’10”).
