SGS Taiwan partners with RiConnect
SGS Taiwan is accelerating its digital transformation strategy through a strategic partnership with RiConnect Inc, formalised at a signing ceremony on 2 July 2025.
SGS Taiwan – a leader in inspection, verification, testing, and certification services – is already a pioneer in systemisation for management of inspection and calibration workflows. Now, through the BlueSupra and RiConnect software, SGS will forge further ahead in compliance, traceability, and lifecycle asset management.
RiConnect delivers a digital compliance management platform that integrates regulatory documents, inspection records, and verification reports – all vital for the high-compliance industries where SGS operates.
RiConnect is committed to simplifying and digitalising processes. It is renowned for improving compliance and traceability for equipment management, with ongoing digitalisation being a key priority. By moving to paperless systems, companies can improve the accuracy of maintenance, safety checks, incident reports, and regulatory compliance, while supporting seamless information sharing.
Jack Kuo, vice president at SGS Taiwan, said, “We’re partnering with RiConnect to leverage digital trends to address the pain points of industrial clients and fulfil the growing demands of industrial safety management. Today, our focus is on innovative ways to deliver business benefits.
Backed by continuous R&D in RFID technology, RiConnect’s solutions were initially developed to address on-site inspection demands. Momentum was built by SGS having extensive service reach and a strong customer base globally, especially in Taiwan.
Steven Hong, president at RiConnect, said: “More than hardware, BlueSupra plays a key role in accelerating product digitalisation and is essential to the success of this digital shift. We also hope to leverage SGS’s expertise and influence to promote product value and brand philosophy across more vertical industries and application areas. As SGS recognises, BlueSupra and RiConnect are designed as neutral technologies; they are platform-agnostic and open to all industrial users.”
RiConnect points to practical application cases with multiple global energy sector leaders. The energy industry presents many compliance issues due to the variety of equipment used and the breadth of applications it is operated in.
Steven Hong added, “These cases demonstrate product maturity and validate the high scalability and reference value of the SGS-BlueSupra-RiConnect collaboration model, especially suitable for high-risk, high-compliance industries such as oil, gas, and wind energy. Notably, BlueSupra is utilised with functional modules tailored to pain points faced by different stakeholders — manufacturers, asset owners, operators, and third-party inspection bodies.”
In addition, RiConnect’s CTSN framework (Compliance, Traceability, Status, Net Zero) is gaining attention, especially amid growing emphasis on ESG and Digital Product Passport (DPP) initiatives. In addition to RFID scanning, BlueSupra also supports anti-counterfeiting, unique identification, and DPP integration.
SGS’s Kuo added, “We offer a network of more than 20 laboratories to serve various industries and will continuously contribute to the economic development of Taiwan in future, through our high professional expertise. It is expected that RiConnect’s application in digital platforms and asset management will reduce the inconvenience of manual operations and make troubleshooting more convenient, thereby improving overall operational efficiency.”
