Platform Parts UK expands into new premises and completes rebranding

Platform Parts UK is expanding into bigger premises as it completes its rebrand from Cherrypicker Shop.

Cherrypicker Shop joined the Platform Parts group last year, following investment from parent company Vertimac. The access machine parts specialist has made the move into a new headquarters in Durham, which is five times larger than its previous premises.

“The combination of the new warehouse and being part of a larger organisation means more parts in stock, faster delivery times and even more competitive pricing,” said Tom Cribb, managing director of Platform Parts UK. “It gives us significant headroom for future growth. Our goal is to become the UK’s parts provider of choice, for both access rental companies and end users.”

Cherrypicker Shop was founded in 2020 and based in Crook, County Durham. It has grown to become a leading independent parts provider, offering both genuine OEM and aftermarket parts for all major MEWP brands. It is also the UK Authorised Parts Provider for Genie. Today, the company supports rental companies ranging from major national fleets to single depot hire firms; as well as providing platform spare parts for end users and independent mobile service engineers.

Tom Cribb was a co-founder of Cherrypicker Shop and remains a shareholder in the new Platform Parts UK business. Since the acquisition in November, the company has been operating under dual branding of Cherrypicker Shop – a Platform Parts company. However, Vertikal Days 2026 will be the official launch of the Platform Parts UK brand.

“Platform Parts UK builds on the strong foundations laid by Cherrypicker Shop,” added Tom. “It is the same team and same high-quality service that has been the backbone of our growth – with the added support and financial strength of the wider Platform Parts group.”

Visit Platform Parts UK on stand 219 at Vertikal Days on 9th and 10th September at Newark Show Ground. The new warehouse and office space is located on the Dragonville industrial estate on the outskirts of Durham and opened for business at the end of July.
