Marraffa invests in Enerpac jack-up for bridge projects

Italian heavy lift specialist, Marraffa Srl has invested in an Enerpac JS-250 jack-up system for upcoming bridge launching projects. The company’s first Enerpac heavy lift system, the JS-250 will give Marraffa a compact alternative to cranes for lifting loads up to 1000t.

Marraffa provides heavy lift, specialised transport and industrial handling services both nationally and internationally. With a focus on innovative solutions and comprehensive training for its workforce, Marraffa is able to offer new approaches to meeting complex transport and handling challenges.

“The Enerpac Jack-up system is an important addition to our heavy lift fleet and in keeping with our commitment to providing creative and cost-effective solutions,” says Pasquale Marraffa, head of Purchasing Dept at  Marraffa Srl and Werent Srl. “It gives us the flexibility to take on projects in space restricted construction sites, as well as the stability to lift loads up to 1000t even during windy conditions where we couldn’t use a crane.”

Enerpac’s JS-Series Jack-Up System is a synchronised lifting and lowering system with self-contained hydraulics in each unit for uncluttered work areas. Loads are lifted in increments as steel boxes, called “barrels”, are stacked together to form lifting towers to mechanically hold the load. The JS-250 Jack-Up system uses computer controls for seamless synchronous control, raising and lowering all towers at the same time.
