Justin Byma of Hyster-Yale is the Pro to Know
Justin Byma, vice president of Global Product Management and Strategy at Hyster-Yale Materials Handling (HYMH), has been named a 2026 Pro to Know by Supply & Demand Chain Executive. Justin earned this recognition in the Leaders in Excellence category, which honours seasoned professionals with at least 10 years of documented industry experience who have made outstanding contributions to the supply chain and logistics space.
In his current role, Justin leads a global team of product managers and engineers responsible for nearly the entire HYMH product portfolio, which includes both the Hyster and Yale lift truck brands. He blends strategic product leadership, cross-functional collaboration and market-driven innovation to deliver lift truck solutions that help customers overcome their biggest operational challenges and achieve productivity goals.
Justin was selected for his leadership in unifying HYMH’s global product management and application engineering teams – an initiative that has reduced operating costs and strengthened the company’s ability to serve the global market while still meeting regional needs. He also oversaw the full-scale launch of the Hyster A Series and Yale Series N lift trucks, which shift the company’s product strategy from multiple application-specific models to a unified, modular and scalable model platform – helping customers get the right truck at the right price for their application.
A core aspect of Justin’s work is staying ahead of market trends and customer challenges to shape the direction of the company’s product portfolio. If customization is required beyond standard offerings, his application engineering team works closely with dealers and customers to develop specialized solutions. Many of these solutions evolve into the mainstream product portfolio, such as the ‘trucker’s mast,’ a low-profile mast designed to improve visibility for forklifts operating inside delivery trailers.
“Justin grounds his leadership in a strong technical and operational foundation, and he’s consistently been able to rally his teams and elevate them as professionals,” said Chuck Pascarelli, president of the Americas, Hyster-Yale Materials Handling. “This approach helps the company maintain one of its most significant competitive advantages: a laser focus on solving customer challenges, which pays dividends for operations throughout the logistics industry. And for that, he is beyond deserving of this honour.”
In the year ahead, Justin aims to expand the application engineering team to serve more customers, deliver customized solutions faster and deepen the company’s ability to solve specialized challenges. He will also be leading a new global warehouse solutions approach, in which he’ll broaden strategy from individual solutions to entire markets and segments.
