Clark Material Handling Receives Safety Award
Lexington, Ky.-based forklift manufacturer Clark Material Handling Co. has been presented with the Kentucky Governor’s Safety & Health Award for the fifth year in a row at a ceremony held at Clark’s aftermarket parts distribution center in Louisville, Ky.
The Louisville facility was recognized for working over 579,000 hours without a lost time accident. These accident-free hours have been logged since November 2002.
The award program is designed to promote safety and health awareness in workplaces throughout the Commonwealth of Kentucky, encourage good sound work practices and recognize those companies that have achieved significant reductions in injuries and illnesses in their workplaces.
"Everyone at Clark has safety as their top priority," said Dennis Lawrence, Clark’s president and CEO. "Going nearly nine years without a lost time accident is quite an accomplishment that demonstrates that Clark truly cares for the health and safety of its employees. We are extremely proud of the employees in this facility who create a culture of safety every day. And as a result, we see lower employee turnover, higher morale, reduced absenteeism, improved productivity, and better quality trucks and parts."
