10th GIS a record-breaker ahead of doors opening

Organisers have announced that the 10th edition of GIS is set to be the largest to date. With a surge in international exhibitors, expanded footprint, and a future-focused conference agenda, Piacenza, Italy, will provide a meeting place for discussing innovation and investment this September.

Taking place at the Piacenza Expo, from 25 to 27 September, the  GIS exhibition will break previous records for both exhibitor numbers and exhibition space. The total exhibition space has expanded to 100,000sqm, including a brand-new 5600sqm area to accommodate the increased demand. As of July 2025, 433 exhibitors representing 472 unique brands have confirmed their attendance – surpassing the final count of the last edition in 2023 with several weeks still to go. This includes 68 exhibitors from outside Italy, reinforcing the show’s growing international influence.

“This momentum is extraordinary,” said Fabio Potestà, director of event organiser Mediapoint & Exhibitions. “We are proud to confirm that GIS is now definitively Europe’s premier gathering for the lifting, access, and heavy transport sectors. The record numbers are a testament to the trust the industry places in GIS as a vital hub for conducting business, discovering innovation, and connecting with partners from across the continent and beyond.”

Reflecting the critical trends shaping the industry, GIS 2025 will feature its most comprehensive conference programme to date. Themes will include:

  • Sustainability and electrification: Showcasing the latest in electric, hydrogen, and hybrid power systems.
  • Workplace safety and training: In collaboration with leading bodies, including IPAF (International Powered Access Federation) and INAIL (Italian National Institute for Insurance against Accidents at Work).
  • Digitalisation and AI: Exploring the impact of IoT (Internet of Things), remote monitoring, and smart technology.
  • The future of the rental industry: Addressing challenges and opportunities in this critical sector.

Beyond the bustling show floor and forward-thinking conferences, GIS 2025 will continue its tradition of celebrating the sector’s achievements. The Italian Terminal and Logistics Awards (ITALA), Italian Access Platform Awards (ITALPLATFORM) and Italian Lifting and Transportation Awards (ILTA) will once again honour excellence. Furthermore, the hugely popular GIS by Night evening on Friday 26th September will provide a unique and festive atmosphere for exhibitors and their clients to network and celebrate in a relaxed setting.

“Reaching our 10th edition with such growth is a milestone we share with the entire industry,” Fabio concludes. “GIS is more than an exhibition; it’s a community and a barometer for the health and direction of our sector. We invite professionals from across Europe and even further afield to join us in Piacenza this September to be part of this record-breaking event and to shape the future of lifting and logistics together.”
