LGH’s record investment promotes high‑capacity lifting gear
LGH Europe is on track to close its financial year with its largest ever programme of fleet investment, marking a decisive push into higher‑capacity, precision‑engineered lifting solutions. The expanded portfolio strengthens the company’s ability to support complex lifting projects across energy, offshore, infrastructure, industrial and heavy‑manufacturing sectors.
This year’s investment cycle has centred on equipment designed for demanding rigging, skidding, pulling, hydraulic lifting and load‑measurement applications. These are areas where project complexity, load size and safety requirements continue to escalate across Europe. The strategy also reflects LGH’s commitment to maintaining a modern, certified fleet capable of meeting the technical and regulatory expectations of today’s engineered lifting environments.
New additions include a 400t Holmatro Skidding System, 520t Enerpac hydraulic cylinders, 800t and 1000t Van Beest shackles for use with LGH’s 1500t MegaMod spreader beam, 500t Crosby Straightpoint wireless load shackles, additional Jakob Rope Systems Habegger Hit‑Tracs, and 150t De Haan snatch blocks.
Andy Mault, CEO at LGH Europe, said, “Our investment strategy is driven by what our customers are facing on the ground: heavier loads, tighter tolerances and more complex engineered lifting requirements. The latest additions are not standard rental market items, they are specialist, high‑capacity tools designed for projects where technical knowledge, experience and the right equipment are critical. LGH deeply understands the equipment, but also the planning, compliance and the people behind each lift.”
The new 400t/800t Holmatro Skidding System gives customers a controlled solution for moving extremely heavy assets in restricted headroom environments where conventional crane lifting is impractical. Typical applications include transformer movements, machinery installation and heavy industrial transport.
LGH has also expanded its hydraulic capability with 520t Enerpac cylinders, supporting bridge construction and refurbishment, structural realignment and major civil engineering works.
The investment in 800t and 1000t GreenPin shackles enhances the capability of LGH’s 1500t MegaMod spreader beam, providing the high‑capacity rigging required for offshore operations, heavy onshore lifts and load‑testing programmes.
Meanwhile, 500t Crosby Straightpoint load shackles strengthen LGH’s load‑measurement offering. Their compact design is particularly suited to confined rigging arrangements, complementing the company’s existing Crosby Straightpoint load links and load cells.
Additional Habegger Hit-Tracs from Jakob Rope Systems in 1.6t, 3.2t and 6.4t capacities support long‑distance pulling, lifting and lowering applications, while new 150t De Haan snatch blocks increase capability across infrastructure, ship repair, offshore and machinery‑moving sectors.
Phil Smith, operations director at LGH Europe, added, “Projects are becoming larger, heavier and more technically challenging. Investing in specialist equipment is only part of the equation as understanding how and where it should be deployed is equally important. This latest expansion reflects the depth of expertise within LGH and reinforces our position as a partner for engineered lifting solutions.”
With further investment planned before year‑end, LGH Europe continues to build a fleet defined by breadth, capacity and specialist capability. It aims to give customers access to the equipment and technical support required to deliver complex lifting projects safely, efficiently and with confidence.
